Experience OASIS training in an immersive and engaging atmosphere based on the most current CMS guidance available. This workshop provides the nation's best education for learning and refining your OASIS coding knowledge, with focus on the new OASIS E items and evolving guidance. This workshop is developed, continually updated, and presented by the OASIS Answer's Blueprint Team. The training is targeted to field clinicians, clinical supervisors, OASIS educators and reviewers/auditors, quality improvement staff and those preparing for the COS-C Exam.

Description

Join the comprehensive and nationally acclaimed two-day Blueprint for OASIS Accuracy workshop and learn to teach, audit, and collect OASIS-E items accurately.  Our instructors use their many years and vaired home healthcare experiences to guide the attendees through relatable patient scenarios that illustrate and reinforce pertinent OASIS coding concepts.  Through large and small group problem-solving disucssions, attendees will apply instructions to more than 50 applicaton scenarios, solidifying mastery of concepts and providing excellent preparation for the open-book COS-C exam.  Make plans to attend the dedicated OASIS Answers' team as we master the new items and guidance for 2023 together. 

Workshop Educational Objectives:

• Selecting accurate OASIS reposnses based on patient-based scenarios.
• Increasing accuracy of OASIS data, resulting in valid quality measurement and payment.
• Increasing compliance with CMS expectations and coding guidance. 

Rather than provide opinions, assumptions, or unfounded interpretations, the Blueprint presenters model reliance on CMS guidance documents and provide strategies to boost confidence and performance in utilizing practical strategies to achieve OASIS Accuracy.

The Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clincal (COS-C) Exam is voluntary certificate examiniation for those interested in demonstrating and establishing their expertise and commitment to OASIS data accuracy.  Administered the day following the Blueprint for OASIS Accuracy Workshop, the scope of the COS-C exam is similar to the Blueprint workshop agenda, covering current CMS OASIS data collection rules and guidance related to OASIS time points, regulations, patient populations and OASIS item specific scoring.

Michigan HomeCare & Hospice Association is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by Pennsylvania State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

 

CRITERIA FOR SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION:

In order to receive contact hours, you must sign in at the beginning of class and sign out at the conclusion of the program each day.   You must stay for the entire workshop and complete an evaluation form in order to receive your certificate.  Late arrivals beyond 30 minutes after the published start time for this education training event will not be eligible to receive the contact certificate.  No exceptions!

REGISTRATION/CANCELLATION INFORMATION:

To register, complete the attached registration form and return it with payment to:  Michigan HomeCare & Hospice Association (MHHA), 2140 University Park Drive, Suite 220, Okemos, MI  48864.  Payment must accompany registration.  To receive a refund, MHHA must be notified in writing of any cancellation 10 business days prior to the workshop date.  A $40.00 administrative charge will be assessed to all cancellations.  No refunds will be issued after September 15, 2023.   Registrations will be taken on a first-come bases.  Please advise MHHA in writing of any substitutes in advance of the workshop.
