It is essential to protect hospice patients, families, and caregivers from avoidable infections, costly treatment, and pain. Every year, surveys show that breaches in infection prevention contribute to avoidable deficiencies for hospice agencies.
 
This session will offer guidance on how to prevent infections and explain the importance of tracking infections and interpreting agency-specific data to guide education for patients, caregivers, and staff. It will provide tips and tools for conducting competencies, providing education, and infection control tracking, and will include best practices pertaining to bag technique and hand hygiene.
