Blueprint for OASIS Accuracy Workshop - OASIS E1

OASIS continues to evolve! Based on the most current CMS guidance available, this workshop provides the nation's best preparation on the 27 new OASIS-E items and guidance, scheduled to become effective January 1, 2023. This engaging, up-to-the minute education is developed and presented by the OASIS Answers' Blueprint Team and is targeted for field data collectors, clinical supervisors, OASIS educators and reviewers, quality improvement staff, and those preparing for the COS-C Exam.

Workshop:  October 10-11th; 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Exam: October 12th; 9:00 am - 11:30 am

 

Experience the comprehensive and nationally acclaimed two-day Blueprint for OASIS Accuracy Workshop and learn to confidently teach, audit and collect OASIS -E items accurately.  Through guided, relatable, expert instruction, and participation in problem-solving discussions to code more than 50 application scenarios, join the dedicated OASIS Answers' Team as we master the new items and guidance for 2023 together. 

Workshop Educational Objectives:

  • Selecting OASIS responses that accurately represent clinical assessment findings
  • Providing accurate data for valid quality measurement and payment
  • Documenting OASIS data, compliant with CMS expectations and instructions.

Rathan than provide opinions, assumptions, or unfounded interceptions, the Blueprint presenters will model reliance on CMS guidance documents and provide and demonstrate strategies for how to become more familiar with the new resources, and how to find defendable answers to your OASIS questions. 

 

Presenters:

Lor Marmon, PT, MBA, COS-C:  Lori is a physical therapist with a Masters in Business Administration.  She has been practicing for 25 years with experience initially in the out-patient setting and then in home care since 2009.  Lori's experience includes positions as a field clinician, quality educator and clinical manager.  In focusing on high quality outcomes and performance improvement, Lori's work emphasizes the critical need for OASIS Accuracy in measuring and achieving clinical success.  Lori currently supports OAI's CMS contract work related to OASIS data collection guidance and serves on OAI's Blueprint Presenter Team.  Lori holds the Certificate of OASIS Specialist- Clinical (COS-C) designation and is a Clinical Consultant with OASIS Answers, Inc.

 

Wendy K. Anemaet, PT, DPT, PHD, GCS, CWS, GTC, COS-C:  Senior Associate Consultant, OASIS Answers, Inc.  Wendy is a physical outpatient, and skilled nursing.  She is an Associate Professor in the Doctoral Physical Therapy Program at Hardin Simmons University  in Abilene, Texas.  Wendy is a Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) and Certified Wound Specialist (CWS), has a Geriatric Training Certificate (GTC), and serves on the editorial board of Topics in Geriatric Rehabilitation.  She has co-authorized books on home health rehabilitation and has published hundreds of articles on home health therapy in peer-reviewed and trade publications.  She provides training nationally on geriatric strengthening, wound assessment and management, falls prevention, and competency testing for home health phyaical therapists on the drug regiment review and pharmacology.  Wendy holds the Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C) designation and is a Senior Associate Consultant with OASIS Answers, Inc.

EXAM:

Certificate for OASIS Specialist - Clinical Exam:  Secure a spot by registering at least one week in advance.   The Certificate for OASIS Specialist-Clinical (COS-C) Exam is a voluntary certificate examination for those interested in demonstrating and establishing their expertise and commitment to OASIS data accuracy.  Administered the day following the Blueprint for OASIS Accuracy training, the scope of the COS-C exam is similar to the Blueprint workshop agenda, covering current CMS OASIS  data collection rules and guidance related to OASIS time points, regulations, patient populations and OASIS item specific scoring.   Candidates who successfully pass the examination are awarded the COS-C designation.  Use the attached registration to register for the exam.   Exam Fees:  $250 for exam and $200 for Renewal Exams.
