PRESENTERS

Karen Leutner, MPT, Director Home Health and AHCS Quality and Compliance, Allina Health Home Health

Physical Therapist by background with 18 years of experience in home health.  Has worked as a clinician in the field, quality and compliance manager, clinical manager and director.

 

Gladys Bakken, BSN, RN, Director, RiverView Home Care

Gladys Bakken is the Director of RiverView Home Care in Crookston MN. Her nursing career began 43 years ago following graduation from LPN school. The Monday after graduation she began a 24 year journey at a private health care facility within a convent. During that time she returned to school for an RN degree and was the DON for the facility for many years. In 2003, 19 years ago, Gladys made a career change and began working at RiverView in Home Care/Hospice and has been there ever since. She has been married to her husband Keith for 43 years. They live in the country and enjoy running, gardening, and family time. Their two daughters and their families live across the border in North Dakota so they are fairly close by, which is great! 

 

Jody Malone, RN, BSN, Clinical Supervisor, Essentia Health Home Care West

Jody became a nurse in 2001, starting her career in ICU, clinic, and assisted living, until finding her passion in home care. Jody has been working at Essentia Home Health for 17 years, first working as an RN Case Manager, then transitioned to quality review and now the clinical supervisor for the Detroit Lakes office. In her spare time Jody enjoys spending time with her family, husband and 2 and 6 year old girls, turkey hunting, and camping.

 

Rebekah Theilen Barnes, BSN, MAHHSA, Homecare Nursing Supervisor, Lakeview Homecare

Rebekah “Beka” Thielen Barnes is the Homecare Nursing Supervisor at Lakeview Homecare after spending 6 years as a Case Manager at Lakeview.  Beka has worked with compliance and quality on performance improvement projects and participates in the QAPI committee.  Beka recently graduated with a Masters in Health and Human Services Administration with the objective of improving quality of care for Lakeview Homecare.

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS

This program has been designed to meet the continuing education requirements for the Minnesota Board of Nursing for 1.0 contact hour. It is the responsibility of the participant to assure that this program meets the licensing and continuing education requirements of their state board and to retain the required documents in his/her personal file. Attendees must participate in the entire presentation in order for contact hours to be awarded – partial credit will not be available.  To apply for nursing contact hours, within one week following webinar participation, a completed sign-in sheet and evaluations from each individual must be returned to MHCA.  Certificates will then be issued by e-mail.

Enjoy the convenience and cost-efficiency of a webinar – watch the speaker’s slide presentation on the internet while listening by telephone or through your computer’s microphone and speakers (VoIP). The cost of this education is per attendee.

Prior to the webinar, a Zoom Webinar link will be e-mailed to you. You will need to click on this link to access the webinar, a dial-in number and an access code to listen in via telephone. You will also be sent any pertinent handouts if available and evaluation link.

WEBINAR RECORDING

You will be sent the recording link following the presentation and it will be available for 1 month following the webinar. The webinar format allows a concise and low-cost format plus the additional bonus of having access to the materials for 1 month and provides additional flexibility to ensure you have an opportunity to access the information.

 

HANDOUTS

Handouts, evaluation forms, sign-in sheets and related materials will be sent to you shortly before the program to the email address you provide.

PAYMENT/CANCELLATION POLICY

Payment must be made in advance of the program. Due to the expense of using the telephone/web hook-up, Webinar registrations may not be shared between agencies.  Your registration covers the access of only one log in to the webinar. Handouts and related materials will be sent to you shortly before the program to the email address you provide.  Refunds will be issued for those that cancel up to three (3) days prior to the program.  Cancellations made less than 3 business days, or ‘no shows’ will forfeit the registration fee.  Cancellations must be received in writing via e-mail.
